Choosing Initial APRV Parameters When Converting from a Traditional Mode

One approach to choosing initial APRV parameters when converting from a traditional mode

Set P1 to be what Pplat was on the prior mode
Set T2 to be one time constant
T1/T2 = 6 to 8
- I'm not sure I agree with this approach, though my approach may yeild similar results.
- I tend to use 60/(T1+T2) = 10 to 12
- Or, use the suggested T1/T2 = 6 to 8 but also 60/(T1+T2) ≈ what the respiratory rate was on the prior mode
